# Company Model

Vortex is a product brand of [SatoshiPay Ltd](https://www.satoshipay.io/). SatoshiPay operates the Vortex frontend service for individuals and businesses, while the underlying smart contracts and settlement logic run on the [Pendulum blockchain](https://pendulumchain.org/). This setup combines the openness of a decentralized application (dApp) with the reliability of a regulated service provider.

[SatoshiPay](https://www.satoshipay.io/) is a blockchain technology company founded in 2014, with a long track record of building infrastructure at the intersection of fiat and decentralized finance.\
[Pendulum](https://pendulumchain.org/) is a Polkadot-based network designed to connect stablecoins and traditional currencies to DeFi, providing the foundation on which Vortex settlement runs.
